Alex Kaiserlis

Hi there...

A few things about me: I am passionate about the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Education. I have extensive experience in creating modern learning experiences, conducting research, and coaching robotics teams, with whom we’ve earned several awards. My goal is to use technology to make a meaningful impact.

I am fascinated by technology and its potential to make a significant contribution to society. My experiences range from exploring AI in Education and applying machine learning to working on issues regarding the ethical dimensions of technological appllications.

Furthermore, in my role as an education expert, I have led research projects that apply technology to enhance learning and benefit our lives.

Establishing Instudies, a school for computer science and robotics, allowed me to develop modern and innovative learning curricula for students of all ages and abilities, and put me in a position to be able to understand how important it is to promote inclusion and equity and create tools that can have a purposeful and tangible impact. My aim is to conduct innovative research that advances education and to develop human-centered and AI-driven decision-making models that genuinely benefit our world.

RESEARCH & ENGAGEMENT

  • 2025, October (Conference Paper): AI for Health Equity through STEM Education: Introducing HealthBot, an Innovative Student-Developed Kiosk
This paper, accepted for presentation at the 14th Panhellenic Conference on ICT in Education following peer review, presents HealthBot as a case study in applying Project-Based Learning (PBL) within a STEM education framework. It details the educational journey of a high school student team that designed and developed a functional AI-powered health kiosk to address local health equity challenges. The work highlights how student-led innovation can foster advanced technical skills while providing tangible solutions for community well-being.
  • 2025, July Expert Advisor & Panelist – Stanford/Close Up/Google DeepMind Youth & AI Deliberative Poll
Participated in a landmark deliberative poll on Youth Perceptions of AI. My role involved co-shaping the official briefing materials as part of the Expert Advisory Committee and serving as an Expert Panelist for the session on “AI for Personal and Social Growth: Social-Emotional Advice, Companionship, and Safety”.
  • 2025 ( Publication Pending): Leveraging Large Language Models to Advance Assessment Paradigms - Introducing Bright E.V.A: The First E.V. (Evaluation Virtual) Assistant
This paper introduces Bright E.V.A., an innovative AI assessment model using LLMs and GenAI to integrate in-person and electronic data, enhancing educational evaluations for adaptivity and holistic student profiling. Pilot studies show improved engagement and personalized learning, while addressing challenges like bias and data privacy click for graphical abstact click for more.
  • 2025 (Publication Pending): AI for Health Equity: Introducing HealthBot, an Advanced Kiosk for Supporting Underserved Areas
HealthBot is an innovative, AI-powered health kiosk developed by high school students to enhance health equity in remote Greek islands by providing accessible initial health insights using diverse sensors, CV & ML algorithms and an LLM for personalized, non-diagnostic wellness advice. The project demonstrates a feasible model for community health. click for graphical abstact
  • 2025: Organizer / Moderator - Deliberation Poll on AI&ED with students and teachers.
Stanford Deliberation Democracy Poll, in Kos Island. Discussions around AIED and its application and regulation on schools
  • 2025: Expert Panelist, Mis & Disinformation Deliberative Poll, US Berkeley
Deliberative poll on “Misinformation/Disinformation on Social Media and Online Platforms,” with postgraduate/doctoral students. Provided expert insights on AI’s role in disinformation, discussing online bots, the need for objective educational content, multi-stakeholder collaborations, and risks of filter bubbles.
  • 2024: Master Thesis: Authorship Verification: Impostors method Using Large Language Models for Impostor Creation
This thesis explores the Impostors Method for authorship verification, where comparison texts from multiple ‘impostor’ authors are used to evaluate stylistic similarity. We extend this approach using large language models to generate synthetic impostor texts, to improve robustness in author identity verification.
